Citizen Reporter Dashboard
The Citizen Reporter Dashboard helps local governments and city teams monitor and manage citizen-reported issues. It's a live, interactive map that shows what’s happening, where, and when—based entirely on input from the community.
Map Overview
Each point on the map represents a citizen-submitted report.
The reports come in from a form made in Atlas. Here is a form example: Report an request
Every marker includes:
- The category of issue (e.g. pothole, broken light, trash)
- The date and time it was reported
- A status (open, in progress, resolved)
- Optional: a photo or comment from the reporter
Filters and Layers
You can filter the map to focus on specific types of requests.
You can choose to show only open requests. Or only those assigned to a specific department.
Layer controls let you toggle between:
- All reports
- In progress
- Resolved cases
- Request category
This helps teams prioritize and clean up the view.
Click for Details
Click any report to get more detail.
You'll see the full submission, including exact time, any updates, and who it’s assigned to.
You can also track how long it has been open.
This is key for accountability.
Status Tracking
Color-coded markers show the status at a glance:
- Orange = pending
- Purple = in progress
- Green = resolved
This lets you scan the map and quickly understand workload and bottlenecks.
Department Views
You can filter just by your team’s cases.
Or use the dashboard to assign new cases as they come in.
This helps avoid duplication and lets everyone stay on task.
Mobile Friendly
The dashboard works on mobile.
Inspectors and team leads in the field can pull it up on their phones.
They can mark reports as resolved or add notes on the go.
No need to call back to HQ.
Embeddable and Shareable
The map can be embedded on a city website.
You can also share a public version that shows open issues but hides sensitive details.
This helps with transparency and builds trust with residents.
Export Options
Download a CSV of all requests.
Or just filter by date and type to get what you need.
Perfect for weekly reports or sharing updates with local officials.
