This week brings a redesigned basemap picker, account-synced tool pins and sort settings, and improved external database connection UX — alongside fixes for feature popups, datatable interactions, and map panel positioning.

Redesigned Basemap Picker
The basemap menu now shows a live preview of each option, so you can see what you're selecting before applying it. Your own basemaps appear at the top of the list rather than below the built-in options. Labels and Boundary overlays are now toggles instead of menu items, making it clearer they can be switched on and off. The "Reset to project default" button also works correctly now — it previously did nothing.
Pinned Tools Saved to Your Account
Your pinned tools row is now stored on your account instead of in the browser. Pins follow you across devices and survive cache clears. Renaming a tool no longer removes it from your pinned row — tools are now identified by a stable ID, so label changes have no effect on your pins.
Sort Locale Moved to the Column
The text sort locale setting has moved from the project dropdown to the column header menu, right below Sort ascending / Sort descending. It only appears on text columns where it actually applies. The setting is now saved to your account rather than to the browser, so the same locale applies on every device and for every teammate using the project.
Connecting an External Database Now Selects the New Connection
Creating a Postgres (or any other external database) connection now automatically opens and selects it. Previously the connection was created but you were left looking at the same empty list. Write-back can also now be enabled directly in the import dialog, right next to the sync key setting, instead of requiring a separate trip to the Data sync panel after import.

- Street view panel now stays anchored to the map viewport edge when sidepanels open or close
- Clearing a value in a feature popup no longer hides the field while you are still editing it
- Date picker now opens above modals instead of behind them
- Clicking the zoom column in a data table no longer opens the column editor
- Inline row rename no longer causes the row to resize
- Alert dialogs are now a more focused, readable width
- Text is no longer accidentally selectable when clicking map controls and buttons
- Shade tool clock now shows the correct time
- Empty projects dashboard now shows a visible starting point
- Spatial division analysis results are now bounded to the visible map area, with out-of-bounds extractions flagged
