Atlas Weekly: W-16

A big week for data capture and filtering — drawn layers can now be saved permanently, spatial filters support custom polygon shapes, and form submissions can trigger automated workflows.

Features

Save drawn and uploaded layers to your project

Temporary layers created with the Draw and Upload widgets can now be saved as permanent project datasets. Each drawn layer gets its own entry with rename, download, and delete controls, and you can choose to save as a new dataset in any folder or append to an existing dataset. Consecutive draws append to the active layer, and clicking outside starts a new one.

Draw polygon spatial filter

The spatial filter widget now supports freehand and polygon drawing modes. Draw custom shapes directly on the map to filter all vector datasets within the drawn area, and drag drawn polygons to reposition them. The widget also got clearer naming — "Filter" is now "Attribute filter" and "Mask filter" is now "Spatial filter" — and spatial filters are now correctly scoped to the datasets included in your interface.

Form submission workflow trigger

Workflows can now be triggered automatically when a form is submitted, enabling automated data processing pipelines directly from field data collection. Available on Team plans.

Auto-sizing labels

A new option keeps text labels and icons at a consistent size across all zoom levels, so labels remain readable whether you are viewing the full extent or zoomed in to a specific area.

Fixes and Improvements

  • Filtered downloads — downloading with OR filter conditions no longer returns an empty file
  • ArcGIS layer symbology — opacity, legend colors, and field styling now render correctly for imported ArcGIS services
  • Project sharing — editors can now change member seats and downgrade users to viewers in the share modal
  • Invitation auto-resolve — invitations for existing Atlas users now resolve automatically without needing to click the email link
  • Mobile embeds — embedded maps on mobile load smoothly with correct workspace branding and titles
  • Lines-to-polygon — the operation now correctly handles boundaries that span multiple line features
  • Spatial filter DISJOINT — correctly excludes features from all mask geometries, not just one
  • Datatable multi-select — row selection now behaves as multi-select; clicking a row toggles it without clearing others
  • Elevation profile — the elevation profile chart now displays correctly
  • Marker visibility — markers on interfaces are visible again
  • Select/lookup styling — columns with empty values no longer show broken styling
  • Drawing hint overlap — the drawing hint no longer overlaps the interface navigation panel
  • Set map origin — the origin preview now works correctly
  • Street View — no longer shows a black rectangle
  • Shared map draw controls — draw controls appear correctly on shared maps
  • Email verification — verification now redirects to the correct page
  • Batch delete — batch delete works reliably again
  • Builder mode — your builder mode selection is now remembered across sessions
  • Map export errors — export failures now show actionable error messages instead of generic errors
  • Project duplication — duplicated projects no longer land in the wrong workspace
  • Raster click values — raster background values display correctly on map click
  • Relation feedback — better feedback when dataset relations cannot be created
  • Upload preview — file preview parsing now runs on the backend for improved reliability
