Atlas Weekly: W-25

This week delivered significant improvements to Atlas's visual data handling and workflow management capabilities, with a focus on enhanced georeferencing tools and improved data connectivity options.

Features

Visual Georeferencer

Introduced a comprehensive visual georeferencer system that allows users to georeference images and raster data through an intuitive visual interface. This powerful tool enables precise spatial alignment of non-georeferenced imagery by allowing users to place control points directly on both the image and reference map, automatically calculating the necessary transformations to properly position the data within the project's coordinate system.

Organization-Level PostgreSQL Connections

Expanded PostgreSQL connectivity to support organization-level connections and datasets, in addition to the existing project-level functionality. This enhancement allows users to create and manage database connections at the organizational level, enabling better resource sharing and centralized data management across multiple projects within the same organization.

Enhanced Form Builder Capabilities

Significantly improved form building functionality with support for text area fields, better helper text configuration, and enhanced field styling options. The form builder now includes toggles for multi-line text inputs, improved placeholder text for helper content, and comprehensive field customization including icon and label styling options across all field types.

Fixes and Improvements

  • Added pagination to selection components, limiting displayed options to 50 per page with navigation controls for improved performance with large datasets
  • Implemented search functionality in data table filters with debounced input for string-type columns, making it easier to find specific filter values
  • Added right-click context menu to shared maps with coordinate copying, feature linking, and deletion options (restricted appropriately in preview mode)
  • Redesigned lookup configuration dialog by making all options (Operation, Limit, Sort) always visible, removing the advanced options toggle for simpler user experience
  • Fixed text field styling issues and improved helper text functionality across forms, including proper multi-line text area support
  • Resolved multiple data table issues including proper display of duplicate private properties, immediate value updates for new private columns, and correct readonly behavior for system fields
  • Improved data table performance by removing automatic sorting on every field change, reducing unnecessary re-renders
  • Enhanced billing page display for trial users and fixed free plan presentation issues
  • Fixed relations not appearing in map feature popups by ensuring proper layer ID selection when markers are selected
  • Added edit icon to project title for improved discoverability of rename functionality
  • Repositioned clear button in notifications popover for better user experience
  • Removed unnecessary synced dataset badges from feature popups to simplify the interface
  • Fixed image handling in forms and improved backend integration for image field types
  • Enhanced connection management by allowing column type changes for database connections
  • Improved error handling for NaN values in data processing workflows
  • Updated icon library to latest version with enhanced iconography support
