Working with the Data Table in Atlas

The Data Table in Atlas is a powerful feature for managing, analyzing, and customizing your datasets. It allows you to edit data, apply filters, and interact with your map dynamically.

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to upload data, access the Data Table, and use its features to organize and enhance your projects. From sorting and filtering to adding new fields, the Data Table makes it easy to focus on what matters most in your analysis.

📥 Adding Data to Your Map

Start by uploading a dataset to see the Data Table in action:

  1. Click the Add Data (+) button.
  2. Upload a file, like real estate data from Denmark.
  3. Use Zoom to Fit to center your map on the dataset.

🔍 Accessing the Data Table

You can open the Data Table in two ways:

  • Three Dots Menu: Click the three dots on the dataset and select Data Table.
  • Layer Panel: Enable the layer, and the table option will appear in the right-side panel.

The table initially opens minimized at the bottom but can be maximized for better visibility.

🛠️ Customizing Columns

The Data Table organizes information into columns, each representing a parameter in your dataset. Here’s how to edit and enhance them:

  1. Change Column Types

    • Example: Convert a URL column into Images by editing the column type.
    • Adjust numbers to show Currency, such as Danish crowns, for better clarity.
  2. Sort Data

    • Click on a column header to sort data in ascending or descending order.
    • Example: Sort rents from highest to lowest.
  3. Add New Fields

    • Add custom columns to include new data or organize existing data more effectively.

🎛️ Filtering Data

Filters help you focus on specific subsets of your data:

  1. Set Conditions

    • Example: Show apartments over 50 square meters by filtering the relevant column.
    • Combine filters to narrow results further, like selecting only apartments in Copenhagen.
  2. Interactive Results

    • The table updates dynamically to reflect your filters, showing the count of matching entries at the bottom.

🎯 Advanced Features

  1. Boolean Columns

    • Add a Boolean column (e.g., "Contacted") to track actions like reaching out to property owners.
    • Filter based on these columns to manage your workflow efficiently.
  2. Search Functionality

    • Use the search bar to find entries by specific criteria, such as neighborhoods or areas.
  3. Zoom to Location

    • Select entries in the Data Table and zoom into their locations on the map.
